Toronto · Hydronic heating specialists
Boiler & radiator heating for older Toronto homes.
Many of Toronto's older houses are still heated by hot-water radiators. Climate Experts specializes in keeping those homes warm with modern high-efficiency boilers, properly sized radiators and cooling that does not need ductwork.
Replacing an old boiler.
Older cast-iron boilers can be large, inefficient and hard to service. A modern modulating boiler adjusts its output to the weather, which saves gas and keeps radiators at a steady, comfortable temperature.
As an authorized IBC and Navien dealer, we install high-efficiency boilers with copper ProPress piping, new controls and circulators, plus dirt separators and expansion tanks where needed to protect the new boiler from old system water. See typical boiler replacement prices.
Combi boiler or indirect tank?
Most older Toronto homes need hot water as well as heat. There are two good ways to do it:
Combi boiler
Heat and on-demand hot water from one compact wall-hung unit. Frees up basement space and removes a rented water heater.
Boiler with an indirect tank
Better for larger households with several bathrooms in use at the same time.
Radiators and towel warmers.
You can usually keep your cast-iron radiators. Where rooms are cold, renovated or added on, modern panel radiators and towel warmers can be added to the same system. We size radiators for lower water temperatures so the boiler runs efficiently. See radiators and towel warmers and in-floor radiant heating.
Air conditioning without ductwork.
Radiator homes have no ducts for central air. Ductless mini-splits, concealed ducted units in the attic, and hydronic air handlers and fan coils add cooling with minimal disruption to plaster walls and original trim.
Chimneys and venting.
When an old boiler is removed, a gas water heater left alone in the chimney may need a chimney liner, or can be replaced by a combi boiler or tankless unit vented through the wall. We plan venting as part of the proposal so there are no surprises.

Common questions.
Do you service Toronto?
Yes. Our Pickering-based team serves Toronto and Scarborough as well as Durham Region. We work on houses and light commercial properties, not condos.
Can a new boiler work with my old radiators?
Usually, yes. We check the radiators and piping and recommend cleaning, valves or added radiators where needed.
How much does a boiler replacement cost in Toronto?
Our high-efficiency gas and combi boiler installations start at $9,000 before HST, and most homeowners pay between $13,500 and $20,000.
Can I get air conditioning in a house with radiators?
Yes. Ductless mini-splits, concealed ducted units and hydronic fan coils add cooling without central ductwork.
