Can these rebates be combined
The federal announcement allows provincial stacking in principle. Eligibility, eligible costs and funding limits must be confirmed for the project. Read the federal announcement and Ontario requirements.
For immediate installation plans, ask about available Ontario options. For future federal support, keep track of official launch details. Avoid assuming an installation completed today will qualify later.

Reviewed October 20, 2026. These answers concern the Home Renovation Savings heat-pump stream; other programs can have different rules. We verify the applicable program and exact equipment before treating an incentive as part of your purchase.
Can a qualifying heat pump use my existing furnace?
The current program permits a new or existing gas or propane furnace as backup. The proposed heat-pump system must still meet the program’s equipment and application requirements.
Discuss this with Climate ExpertsDoes replacing an existing heat pump qualify?
The current Home Renovation Savings heat-pump stream excludes replacement of an existing space-heating heat pump. Replacing only one component or adding an indoor unit is also excluded.
Discuss this with Climate ExpertsWhat should be verified before installation?
Confirm the current program, participating contractor, qualified equipment combination and application steps before proceeding. Assessment requirements differ between upgrade streams.
Discuss this with Climate ExpertsCan the rebate be guaranteed from the outdoor-unit model alone?
No. Your heating fuel, complete eligible system, program rules and application affect the result. We verify the match and expected incentive in your proposal; the program administrator determines approval.
